Eun Jeong Hong

Lately I have been feeling a little more feminine than usual. Cute, above the knee dresses with flared skirts is what I have been craving and then I came across Eun Jeong Hong, winner of the Fashion Fringe contest in London this year, with her collection go by a secret path. (Fashion Fringe is a contest for up and coming designers judged by influentials in the fashion industry and awards the winners with a nice monetary prize to fund their line). Simply "cute" or "feminine" is not what Eun Jeong Hong brought to the competition. Her all white collection is hyper frilly, feminine beauty, like decadent desserts you just want to wrap around yourself. She has layered the pieces with lace, giving them wonderful volume and everything down to the multiple pairs of socks is absolutely adorable. But, not an awww adorable... more like a a shock and awwwwe adorable. (Am I making sense? I think this collection is shocking and aweing my brain so much that I am losing my words). Every now and then there is a collection that really hits the spot and this is mine right now.

Tina Kalivas

Tina Kalivas worked for almost 10 years in London, under designers like Alexander McQueen and making costumes for the film industry. In 2002, she relocated to Australia to work on her own line. These are from her winter 2008 collection where she does her own take on a classic "pretty." Very sweet. The palette is lovely; I love the addition of the belted blue dress.
