For the last couple of seasons I have been a big fan of the wife/husband duo that is AF Vandervorst. I've always enjoyed their mix of soft and hard elements in their clothing and this season these elements are accentuated. By layerying tailored pieces over flowing gowns and leaving more tailored pieces slightly undone to allow movement they have created a really great looking collection.
With the Fall 2008 shows starting in Paris today, I thought I would take a look at a few of the pre-fall collections to see what is in store for the week.
Still enjoying the stiff structure of Balenciaga but there are some really cute dresses that start to loosen up little more but still hold that structure. Lanvin is looking all charcoal and Theyskens is wrapping his girls in asymetrical shapes and cute little dresses with a nice palette that flip flops between warm and cool.
Born in Korea and raised in the United States, Jean Yu designs beautiful clothing made from beautiful, delicate fabrics. These photos are from three different collections (most recent to her earliest). http://www.jeanyu.com
Jean Yu is perhaps more well known for her lingerie made from mostly silks (Sofia Coppola is known to be a big fan). The minimalist design and the choice of simple color and fabric allows the pieces to accentuate the body in a really beautiful way.
