Miss Marshall's fall 2008 collection is elegeant and sophisticated with a gothic edge. Her mix of fabrics and leather is enamoring. She is interested in a commnication between the wearer and the clothing so the mix of textures and weights creates a specific experience to the person doning the clothes. Marshall's signature mark is also to embed messages in her clothing using brail.
I just can't get enough of how much innovation there is in what could be very basic looks. The armor-like shoulder pieces are quirky but give the garments an edgy structure, while the sheer fabrics soften up looks that would otherwise be straight and stiff. There is a constant pull between hard and soft. I can't get enough.
[Shall we also pause a moment and take notice of how cool she makes a crow on your head look?]

The girl is so shamless, in ripping people off. She use to work for Camilla Skovgaard, where you can see alot of the inspiration from, and also the baby doll dress, looks abit like another designer.
Do you have a link to Camilla Skovgaard clothing? I would be interesting in seeing the similarity, but I only seem to find shoes...
Sorry meant... Camilla Staerk. If you look at the past collections you will see what I mean.
Yeah, I do see the similarity now. Mostly in Staerk's spring 08 collection. It is hard to draw the line between ripping someone off and being influenced... I think Marshall took the influence of the leather and the balck and pushed farther in her own way... it is very similar, but I don't know if I would call it ripping off, although the short lenths of the trapeze dresses from both designers is very similar. It is hard for me to turn on Marshall because I do love this collection a lot!
Well, I know that Hannah used to work for Staerk, and then you go off and set up your own business, with a similar look. I don't know what you call that but ripping off.
i really think the collection is stunning and other than the garments being black i think the two designers are very different
